Kimball_Aerial_3x2 Kimball_1_3x2Kimball_2_3x2The City of Waterloo contracted Ament Design to survey one of its busiest west side intersections.  This projected $6.1 million transportation improvement project involves widening and reconstruction of mainline Kimball Avenue, an arterial roadway in Waterloo, Iowa.  The Project also involves widening and/or reconstruction of the approaches of three side roads – San Marnan Drive, Park Lane, and Ridgeway Avenue, to provide auxiliary turn lanes on these side roads at their intersection with Kimball Avenue.  These roadway improvements were needed to improve traffic capacity, efficiency, and safety along the Kimball Avenue corridor and at its side road intersections.  This Project was funded primarily with Federal STP funding and also with local funding.
